My notifications/emails/smses/invoices are not sending/delivering/my client has not received them
There are a number of things (many out of our control) that can cause your clients not to receive their notifications. We will show you how you can discover failed or undelivered notifications/messages, and work out what the reason for this might be.
General tips
Find the status of your message
You can view the messages (everything from confirmations, reminders to invoices) that AppointmentGuru has sent on your behalf from the messages page:
- In your account, open the sidebar > Messages.
- Search by using an email address or phone number to find a specific message. Click on the message to view a list of statuses at the bottom.
- You can learn more about the various email message statuses here: https://documentation.mailgun.com/docs/mailgun/user-manual/events/#introduction-to-events.
Troubleshooting Emails
What to do if your client has not received your email
We do our best to send emails that will successfully make their way to your client's inbox, but unfortunately, due to the nature of email, we cannot guarantee that this is always the case. Generally, we find delivery to popular mail clients like Gmail and Outlook works well - but there can be issues with corporate email accounts. If a client is not receiving your emails, here are some things you can try:
- Ask them to check their SPAM folder. If they find your email in SPAM, they should flag it as not SPAM.
- Use an alternative method to send the message to your client. For example, you can send invoices via SMS as well as WhatsApp.
- Ask them to add your email address as well as [email protected] to their contact list.
Troubleshooting SMSes
SMSes are somewhat less complicated. The most common reason an SMS fails to deliver is that the recipient has blocked the sending number or opted out of receiving messages from it.
Alternatively, it's always possible they just missed it! 🤷
